Dorcas launches national search for new CEO

Posted 3/15/13

PROVIDENCE – Doras International Institute of Rhode Island has launched a national search for a new CEO after the resignation of current CEO Carol Holmquist, the organization announced Friday.

For the last year, Holmquist oversaw the successful merging of the Dorcas Place Adult and Family Literacy Center and International Institute of Rhode Island. Her resignation is effective immediately.

Former board president of the International Institute of Rhode Island, William Twaddell, has accepted the role of interim CEO as the national search is conducted.

“We deeply appreciate the work Carol Holmquist has done to bring Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island to realization,” Dan Gorriaran, DIIRI board chair, said in prepared remarks “and we are excited by the future of this organization that will continue its tradition of quality services helping members of our community on the path to self-reliance.”
