PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Economic Development Corporation and Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis are hosting an informational session aiming to help local business owners navigate governmental red tape.

The meeting, part of the “We Mean Business” series, takes place Sept. 10 at the Hotel Providence Renaissance. According to a news release, the free session will bring federal, state and local government officials to answer questions business owners have.

More than 50 organizations planned to set up shop, including: Providence Economic Development Partnership, the R.I. Department of Labor and Training and the U.S. Small Business Administration. The expo hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the opportunity to meet with government officials about registering a business, financing, taxes, licensing and permitting, the expo will offer free workshops on business management.
