WARWICK – Electronic Alarms, a division of American Alarm and Communications, has acquired West Greenwich-based security company P&J Alarm, the companies announced Tuesday.

P&J Alarm co-founder and owner Judy Santa and the two other P&J Alarm employees will join the 35 current employees of Electronic Alarms. Both companies will operate from Electronic Alarm’s Warwick location.

“We are pleased to welcome Judy Santa and her team, and we look forward to serving P&J Alarm customers,” Henry Guzeika Jr., general manager of Electronic Alarms, said in prepared remarks.

“This is a great fit for both companies. Together, we’ll be able to provide expanded services and new technologies for the hundreds of homes and businesses that P & J Alarm has served so well for so long,” added Guzeika.

P&J Alarm was founded in 1978 by Judy and Paul Santa. When Paul passed away in 1993, Judy took over the day-to-day operations of the company.

“This was the right time for me and our company to set a new course for the future,” Judy Santa said in a statement. “By partnering with Electronic Alarms, our customers will see the benefits of being served by a larger team, but we will retain the personalized touch of a local, family business, which was very important to me.”

Electronic Alarms was founded by the Guzeika family in 1969 and in 2012 it became a division of Arlington, Mass.-based American Alarm and Communications.

“We are excited to see Electronic Alarms growing in Rhode Island, and to have Judy Santa and her staff join the American Alarm family of companies,” Wells Sampson, president of American Alarm, said in prepared remarks. “As multi-generational family businesses, we share a common approach and a long-term commitment to customer service. By working together, we’ll have more resources to serve our customers throughout Rhode Island and Southern New England.”

According to a release, there will be no disruption of security or monitoring services for P&J Alarm customers during the transition. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
