Embrace marks 31 years with community service

MIDDLETOWN – Embrace Home Loans celebrated 31years in business with its tradition of weeklong community service that included corporate volunteers at more than 30 organizations, the company announced June 20.
During the week of the company’s May 13 anniversary, Embrace employees volunteered their time for organizations ranging from Habitat for Humanity in Portland, Maine to The Homeless Coalition in West Palm Beach, Fla. on projects that included building, landscaping, cleaning and cooking.
“We certainly had a challenging year, maybe the most challenging year in our more than three decades of history,” said Embrace Home Loans President Kurt Noyce. “One of the many things I am proud of, maybe most proud of, is that in the midst of adversity, Embrace teammates invested themselves in more community outreaches, sponsored more nonprofit events and supported more jeans-for-charity days than in any other year.’
Among the Rhode Island volunteer projects was painting and redecorating rooms and doing playground improvements at Lucy’s Hearth, a Middletown organization that provides shelter for homeless women and children. Volunteers also took part in beach clean-ups in Rhode Island, as well as projects with military veterans and the Salvation Army.
