Employees challenge themselves

Providence engineering firm Wright-Pierce has been encouraging and supporting wellness for its employees for years.

One program, the Wright Way to Wellness, was launched in 2013 to inform, educate and motivate employees to improve their health. The program involves various Wellness Ambassadors from each Wright location throughout New England.

A recent challenge combined healthy activity with a nutritional element, as teams virtually walked from Maine to Connecticut, making farmers market pit stops along the way.

“Not only did our employees get physically active, but they learned more about how local farmers markets can offer healthy nutritional options – fresh, local and affordable,” said Connie Taggart, the company’s human resources director.

To further connect with its employees, Wright-Pierce sponsors a variety of health challenges, and offers fitness reimbursement, on-site flu clinics, a health fair, biometric screenings and wellness coaches. n
