LINCOLN – The Employers Association, a former Rhode Island-based professional organization, has merged with the Employers Association of the NorthEast, based in Agawam, Mass.

The move was effective Aug. 1.

“Joining the [Employers Association of the NorthEast] is a chance for [our members] to access a broader range of services and more in-depth resources. It is truly a win-win,” Paul Martineau, former president of the Employers Association, said in a statement.

Martineau now is director of member relations at the Employers Association of the NorthEast.

The merger came on a recommendation of the Employers Association board of directors and, according to a release, the two organizations have collaborated for years.

“This merger advances our mission of providing employers access to quality, bottom-line focused professional talent management services designed to help them achieve their goals,” Meredith Wise, president of the Employers Association of the NorthEast, said in prepared remarks.

The Employers Association of the NorthEast was founded more than 100 years ago. With this merger, it serves more than 1,000 employers in the Northeast.

The association provides resources and services in human resources, organization development, workplace compliance and employee development.
