PAWTUCKET – Envision Technology Advisors, a technology consulting firm, recently acquired Crown Web (formerly Embolden) from Crown Philanthropic Solutions for an undisclosed sum.
“It’s a win-win,” Jeremy Girard, director of marketing for Envision Technology Advisors, said Wednesday.
The 11-member Crown Web/Embolden team has joined Envision at its main office in Pawtucket’s Hope Artiste Village. With the acquisition, Envision now has 55 employees, Girard said. The acquisition was finalized Sept. 15, he said.

Embolden, which offers digital communications strategy, website design and software development services to companies around the country, was acquired two years ago by Crown Philanthropic Solutions LLC. Embolden, founded by Ann-Marie Harrington in 1998, specialized in working with nonprofit organizations and community foundations.
Harrington is continuing to work for Crown, according to Girard.

According to a news release from Envision, the acquisition “significantly increases Envision’s existing website design and online communications services,” noting it has created a new Digital Innovation & Design division, which is being led by former Embolden employee Megan Knobbe.

Through the acquisition, existing Embolden clients now will be supported by a full-service cloud and IT solutions provider, the release said.

“Culturally and philosophically, I can’t imagine a better fit between two companies,” Envision Founder and CEO Todd Knapp said in a statement. “Envision has always been passionate about client service and successful outcomes. Our new Digital Innovation team has that same commitment. The future for our company, and our shared client base, is one of innovation and access to emerging technology.”

Knapp said the acquisition is a “critical step to securing that future.”
