Headquartered in Warwick, Automated Business Solutions, an office equipment provider and servicer, has been in business for more than 20 years. For a small business, that kind of staying power would be a testament to success in and of itself. But what is particularly impressive about ABS is the fact that despite a still-sluggish economy, it saw 36 percent growth from 2011 to 2013.
President and owner Alan P. Albergaria said he owes the company’s success to two points: his team and the decision to push forward and expand into other markets and expand offerings, particularly in the IT and network services sphere.
“We continue to add to our IT/network services offerings every day,” said Albergaria. “Our slogan is that we are ‘the total office answer’ and that’s our differentiator. Most of our competitors provide few offerings focused on equipment. Our focus is uncovering a client’s true needs and providing a better, more effective way of doing things.”
Part of this initiative has been to offer complimentary office assessments, in which ABS staffers look at how to maximize their clients’ bottom line while streamlining workflow, ultimately reducing overall costs. This is especially crucial as companies in the local economy look to stay viable in these challenging times.
“Over the last year or two, we have seen an improvement in our local economy,” he said. “All companies have a need for our offerings. As we provide these solutions, we are, at the same time, helping clients to [thrive] in today’s market.”
