FALL RIVER – Mayor William A. Flanagan sent a letter to New England Patriots and New England Revolution owner Robert Kraft, inviting the sports magnate to tour Fall River as he searches for a new home for the soccer team.

According to Southcoasttoday.com, Flanagan’s letter said that the city’s “soccer culture” makes Fall River an “ideal” location for the new stadium.

“It has come to our attention that you are looking for a new location to build a stadium for the New England Revolution. In that light I wanted to bring your attention to the city of Fall River,” Flanagan wrote in the letter.

Flanagan failed to offer a specific site for the proposed stadium, but said the city had a number of locations that could work.
