Families partake in Bark on the Beach

Fifty families and pets participated in a Bark on the Beach fundraiser at Narragansett Town Beach on Oct. 4, raising more than $12,000 for homeless animals for the Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island.
With a stormy surf as a backdrop, dogs meandered through the crowd while sponsors welcomed visitors to booths to promote products and services. There also was a raffle, canine contests and a presentation by the Rhode Island K-9 unit.
DJ Phillip Weston of Romantic Receptions energized the crowd with music while Master of Ceremonies Mark Curtis of television station ABC 6 entertained.
Professional and amateur photographers, including Stephanie Georgia, from The Animal Print magazine, Jen Wallace and Michael Belsito, from RI Local magazine, and others took pictures of participants.
Sponsors included ABC6, Centreville Bank, Lions Club of Narragansett, RI Local magazine, and The Animal Print magazine.
