Farish, Wray named to New England Council board

BOSTON – The New England Council named Roger Williams University President Donald J. Farish and Blue Cross Blue Shield Rhode Island’s Chief Operating Officer William K. Wray to its board of directors.

Farish and Wray were elected to the board of the non-partisan alliance of business, academic and health institutions and public and private organizations along with three other New England business community leaders, the Council announced Tuesday.

University of Massachusetts President Robert L. Caret, Pitney Bowes’ Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs Ann Daley and Patrick C. McHugh, president of New Hampshire-based FairPoint Communications will join Farish and Wray on the expanded Council board.

“From health care, to higher education, to telecommunications, our newest board members represent the diverse business community in New England,” said James T. Brett, president and CEO of The New England Council.

“Their breadth of experience and expertise will bring new perspectives and fresh ideas to our Board of Directors,” he added. “I look forward to collaborating with each of our new Directors as The New England Council works to address the many economic challenges the New England region faces.”
