ADI Energy, an energy-services company based in Smithfield, provides clients with plans on how to use energy most efficiently by analyzing their systems and installing practical, cost-effective, environmentally friendly solutions.
John J. Rizzo, president and CEO of ADI Energy, explains that the company’s three-year revenue growth of 112 percent is mainly driven by the company’s federal government business sector. He cites a partnership with Lockheed Martin at the U.S. Embassy in Nicaragua as an example.
“Our team reduced the energy purchased at the site by [more than] 54 percent. This project allows the U.S. to help reduce the host country’s impact on the environment, as that country makes a majority of its power with heavy oil,” Rizzo said.
In May 2015, ADI Energy was also selected for a $1.5 billion U.S. Department of Defense energy performance contract, along with 13 other businesses.
Looking forward, one of Rizzo’s goals in 2016 is to work more in Rhode Island and its communities. “This is our community, too, and we want Rhode Island to be a leader in sustainability. With Gov. [Gina M.] Raimondo’s focus on energy infrastructure and the new R.I. Infrastructure Bank, this may just happen in ‘Lil’ Rhody,’ ” he said. •
