PROVIDENCE – Rochester, N.Y.-based Fibertech Networks has completed an expansion of its fiber footprint in Providence.
The expansion, which added 30 miles of new fiber over the past several months, allows the company to serve Coventry, Cranston, West Warwick, Woonsocket and other Providence areas.
With the expansion, Fibertech owns and operates nearly 200 miles of fiber in the Providence Area.
“This is a significant investment in our Providence footprint and allows us to better serve business customers throughout the city,” Fibertech Director of Enterprise Sales Pat Dolan said in a release announcing the expansion.
According to the company, the new network will allow healthcare, financial, education and government organizations, as well as other medium and large businesses, to take advantage of a full suite of optical bandwidth solutions and dark fiber connectivity.
“Providence is quickly becoming an economic focal point and major business hub for technology-focused organizations, and is a perfect fit for our service offerings,” added Dolan.
