John Vigeant is CEO of Tracelytics, a Providence-based software startup that helps its customers monitor the performance of Web applications.

Prior to joining Tracelytics in January, the Boston native was vice president of business development for Java application management company CloudBeeds and business development manager at Citrix.

PBN: What is the Tracelytics software, and why is it crucial for businesses?

VIGEANT: Tracelytics provides companies the ability to gain deep visibility into the performance of their Web applications. Businesses run on applications and peak performance of those applications at all times is often vital.

PBN: You just landed $5.2 million in a Series A financing round, what is that money going to fund?

VIGEANT: Our Series A funding will be used to double the size of our company to include building out our sales and marketing teams, as well as scaling engineering.

PBN: Did starting out as members of the Betaspring accelerator play a role in the success of your company?

VIGEANT: The mentorship and guidance our team received from the Betaspring team was invaluable in getting Tracelytics to where we are today – ready to build and scale into a major software company.

PBN: You’re opening up a new location in Boston, why the expansion?

VIGEANT: The Boston office provides us an accelerated opportunity to support our aggressive hiring plans and be closer to many local technology communities and customers.

PBN: Is the new office going to replace your Providence location, or do you plan to stay local?

VIGEANT: Our Providence office will remain.
