PBN: What is your background?
FALCONE:
Most recently I led an IT services group; prior to that I held a position in state government as executive director of [Joint Committee on Legislative Services] in the R.I. Legislature. I have served on the board of directors at [Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island]. The bulk of my experience has been in mortgage banking, with exposure to manufacturing early in my career.

FALCONE:
Our immediate focus is to execute our part to support and implement Governor Raimondo’s plan of bringing better jobs to the state, through a variety of existing programs. In addition to our current programs, we will make an effort to increase our member and industry involvement. This focus is in sync with our mission and will continue to be part of our efforts moving forward.
Tech Collective recently hosted a roundtable with the governor and business leaders – what do you think was the most important take-away from it? Do you think any changes will result?
FALCONE:
I was impressed with the governor’s focus on growing the technology industry in Rhode Island, the governor’s desire [to] engage employers and her ability to understand their needs.
I am certain that these efforts will result in positive changes for the state of Rhode Island.

FALCONE:
With technology infiltrating every industry, it is absolutely growing. We are at the beginning of a really exciting time where tech is shaping our future, and our governor and other leaders are investing in the workforce and resources to grow this industry and make Rhode Island a leader in this space.
