ALSTEAD, N.H. – Four of Rhode Island’s colleges and universities made the pages of an annual guide to top schools, publishers announced Tuesday.
Brown University, Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Rhode Island all have been included in the upcoming “Fiske Guide to Colleges 2014.” The bestselling guide offers details at more than 300 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain, taking a “selective, subjective and systematic look” at the schools, according to a release.
The guide highlights student happiness at Brown and the professor-student relationship at PC. It calls URI “an amazing place to learn, prosper and have fun” and RISD “the nation’s best-known arts specialty school.”
The 2014 edition will mark the 30th anniversary of the Fiske college guide. Its author, Edward B. Fiske, spent 17 years as the education editor of the New York Times.
