Fox Point Pickling Co., which launched a kickstarter campaign, sold its first jar of garlic dill pickles at the Pawtucket winter farmers market on Nov. 1 and said it hasn’t slowed down since.

Fox Point pickles are available at more than 10 farmers markets in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, as well as more than 75 retail stores and eateries in six states. The company said it sold approximately 135,000 pickles in its first year.

Owner Ziggy Goldfarb, who calls himself the “head pickleteer,” started the business after he was laid off from a position in public relations. Information on marthastewart.com states that they use “fresh produce, sourced locally whenever seasonally available, and combine it with our bold spice blend. We’re a company built on pride and passion, and we’ve got a crisp, delicious pickle with plenty of fans to show for it.”

The products are made in Warren, at the Hope & Main culinary business incubator.
“Rhode Island has been so supportive of our pickle adventure over the past year, and we’re honored to be recognized on this larger scale,” Goldfarb said.
