Free cloud-based accounting service launched

PORTLAND, Ore. – Billy, an app-based accounting software company, introduced its free, cloud-based accounting service last week.
The Danish company started in 2012 and offers users free accounts at www.billyapp.com. The cloud-based accounting software is designed for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
“Our platform has been built from the ground up by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs,” said founder Toke Kruse in a statement. “I met so many small-business owners that, like me, were very frustrated with how unnecessarily complex Quickbooks was, so I decided to build a much more user-friendly alternative. My partner and I met with hundreds of entrepreneurs and freelancers all over America. They told us exactly what they wanted in an accounting software and we built a solution perfectly tailored to their specific needs.”
The company says 98 percent of its customers use the free version of the product, although there is a premium version offered at $29 per month. The company has accumulated 42,000 paying customers over four years.
“Entrepreneurs need to get paid fast, so we made collecting as easy and efficient as it can possibly be,” said CEO Zeke Camusio in a statement.
