Free seminar for first-time homebuyers

WESTERLY – A free seminar, “First-Time Homebuying Made Easy,” will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at 6 p.m., at Washington Trust’s Reservoir Avenue Office at 645 Reservoir Ave., in Cranston.
The seminar will explore all aspects of the home purchasing process, including what to expect when buying a home, down payment and closing cost options, the criteria lenders use to examine applicants, and program qualifications.
Speakers will include a Rhode Island Housing representative, a consumer credit-counseling service representative, and Steven Larson, Washington Trust assistant vice president, mortgage lending.
The seminar is hosted by Washington Trust and Rhode Island Housing Reservations are required to ensure space and course material availability.
