During its eighth annual French Film Festival, Salve Regina University will offer six films from France, Quebec and Belgium to be screened during the course of a week. The festivities begin with an opening reception Sunday at Newport’s Jane Pickens Theater, where cinema fans will enjoy music, wine and cocktails before the screening of “Monsieur Lazhar.” The drama centers on the students at a Montreal middle school who are shaken by the death of their teacher. Other festival genres include comedy and action.
