The Friends of St. Anne’s recently awarded the Boys and Girls Club of Fall River $15,000 for its ONE Campaign annual fund.
The ONE Campaign supports the club’s academic success programs, including homework help and tutoring, a stay-in-school initiative and science and reading clubs. Campaign funds also aide the club’s leadership programs, the Torch and Keystone clubs.
“The club is honored to receive this first donation from the Friends of St. Anne’s,” said Peter McCarthy, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club. “The Friends of St. Anne’s is making a real difference in our work this year and their mission is perfectly aligned with ours.”
The funds raised by Friends of St. Anne’s were a product of the organization’s gift shop, which is staffed by volunteers. Proceeds are used to help those in the community who are in need.
“The FSA, especially the volunteers that staff the shop, are delighted to donate to the club’s ONE Campaign,” said representative Janis Karam. “The club has done so much for the children of the community that the FSA wanted to help the club continue the wonderful work that it is doing.” •
