Fundraisers to benefit Slater Park

PAWTUCKET – A series of fundraisers to restore camp facilities in Slater Park destroyed by a fire late last year will begin with a Dining for Dollars event on Feb. 18 at Bertucci’s at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro.
Diners from 4-9 p.m. will receive a 15 percent discount on their food order by presenting a promotional flier that is available online through the Help Slater Park Camp Facebook page and at the Parks & Recreation Office in Slater Park. Diners also can pick fliers at the restaurant on the event day.
Other fundraising events will include a Pint Night at Sullivan’s Publick House on Armistice Boulevard on March 6 and a Benefit Night Out at the Lefoyer Club on Fountain Street on March 23. The benefit night will include appetizers, prize drawings and live music. Tickets for the event are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and can be purchased at the Slater Park Office or the Mayor’s Office on Roosevelt Avenue. The Parks and Recreation department also is accepting donations and is seeking volunteers to help restore camp facilities.
“The summer camp program at Slater Park has benefitted countless children and families for more than 25 years by providing them with quality, family-affordable summer programming,” said John Blais, director of parks and recreation, in a statement.
