GTECH Center rebranded as IGT

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Center has changed its signage and name to reflect the new branding of its main tenant – International Game Technology.

GTECH was rebranded as International Game Technology after combining with the Nevada-based company on April 7.

On Oct. 24, the GTECH letters on top of the 10-floor structure, located between Providence Place Mall and Waterplace Park at 10 Memorial Blvd., were replaced and changed to IGT, giving the downtown night sky a new look. The letters shine blue during the day and are illuminated white at night.

The new logo features GTECH’s iconic blue and orange globe, which measures 8 feet, 4 inches tall.

IGT partnered with a local Rhode Island company, Mandeville Sign in Lincoln, for the fabrication and installation. A truck-mounted crane lifted the 6-foot, 3-inch-tall IGT letters – each weighing between 600 and 800 pounds – to the top of the two-story steel and glass tower, which will continue to change colors at night.

The center opened in 2006 after two years of construction. In addition to housing one of IGT’s global operating headquarters, it also is home to Fidelity Investments and the Capital Grille, among other tenants.
