GTECH achieves Carnegie Mellon’s CMMI Level 3 rating

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp.’s global technology solutions support organization has been appraised at Level 3 of the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Mature Model Integration for Development (CMMI-DEV).

GTECH received its initial maturity Level 3 rating in 2004, said this latest appraisal “confirms GTECH’s continued commitment to following established industry best practices while providing high quality software solutions and services.”

According to a company release, the CMMI Level 3 rating is “highly coveted” because of its rigorous assessment of a vendor’s software and systems engineering, program management and organizational process management capabilities.

“Achieving CMMI Level 3 reaffirms GTECH’s level of commitment to excellence in system engineering, software development, and delivery,” GTECH Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Matthew Whalen said in a statement. “I would like to commend each staff member involved in the appraisal process and thank them for their invaluable input in improving the organizational processes, ensuring timely and best-in-class solutions for our global customers.”
