GTECH earns best-practices certification

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. has earned recertification for the North American Association of State and Providential Lotteries standards initiative certification program in quality assurance.
To earn the certification, the gaming subsidiary of Rome’s Lottomatica Group SpA had to demonstrate conformance to the NSI certification program conformance requirements documents, quality assurance development process 1.0 and quality assurance requirements definition for vendors 1.0.
GTECH was first certified for quality assurance in 2009; recertification is required every two years. The industry-defined best practices are intended to provide lotteries and vendors with concise, documented and approved methods for ensuring quality in software and requirement development processes.
“Achieving recertification is a testament to GTECH’s commitment to quality in our lottery products and services we provide to our customers every day,” GTECH’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Matthew Whalen said in a statement.
“Vendors and lotteries committed to a common set of standards and best practices benefits the entire industry by promoting interoperability and improving quality and efficiencies associated with delivering, operating, and maintaining lottery systems,” added Whalen.
