GTECH Corp. recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its 174th After School Advantage computer lab, which was donated to Family Resources Community Action.
The After School Advantage computer lab, valued at $15,000, includes eight flat-panel computers, a printer, educational and design software, and new workstations, chairs and a fresh coat of paint.
“The new After School Advantage computer lab will greatly enhance the quality of Family Resources Community Action’s career and educational programs provided through the Woonsocket YouthWorks411 Center,” said Benedict Lessing, executive director of Family Resources Community Action. “We greatly appreciate GTECH’s generosity. These new resources will make a real difference in the lives of the youth we serve.”
Family Resources Community Action’s YouthWorks411 Center provides a variety of academic and career-readiness programs to youths and young adults ages 14 to 24, including homework help, college tours and referrals for summer employment. •
