GTECH signs 10-year Argentina contract

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. has signed a 10-year contract with Grupo Slots to provide technology and support services for the lottery in the province of San Luis, Argentina, the company’s parent, Lottomatica Group, announced Monday.

GTECH will act as the exclusive technology partner to Grupo Slots, the license-holding private company operating the lottery on behalf of the Agencia Financiera de Loterias, Casinos y Juegos de Azar de San Luis.

Under the terms of the contract, GTECH will supply the hardware and software needed to operate the lottery central system, and provide system training and marketing support to Grupo Slots.

The contract, which follows a competitive procurement, allows for an additional 10 year extension.

“We are excited to partner with Grupo Slots to implement the private operator model in San Luis at a time where many governments are looking to privatize their lottery operations,” GTECH Senior Vice President of Latin America and the Caribbean Erik Dyson said in prepared remarks.

“We look forward to working together in the province of San Luis to strengthen the lottery business with advanced technology and flexible retail solutions, to optimize and grow the existing game portfolio as well as improve retail outlet performance over the license period,” added Dyson.

GTECH has similar contracts in the Argentinean provinces of Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Entre Rios.
