PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corporation, the Providence-based subsidiary of Italy’s Lottomatica Group, signed a 10-year contract with Pan Malaysian Pools to provide a new central lottery system, terminals and ongoing services, Lottomatica announced Wednesday. Financial details of the agreement were not released.
“This new partnership in Malaysia is strategically important for GTECH as we look to further expand our footprint in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Jaymin B. Patel, GTECH president and CEO.
Pan Malaysian Polls administers and operates lottery games in Malaysia.
GTECH will replace PMP’s existing central lottery system with the GTECH Enterprise Series and the existing terminal base with 1,600 of the provider’s Altura GT604 lottery terminals. The new system is expected to go live in August 2011.
After the 10-year period has finished, the contract may be extended every three years.
