PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. – the gaming subsidiary of Rome-based Lottomatica Group SpA – has signed a four-year contract extension with Camelot UK Lotteries Limited through February 2023.
The extension, which is expected to bring in an excess of €200 million in revenue, will commence during the first quarter of 2019.
According to a Lottomatica Group release, the contract is for the provision of lottery technology, related services and additional lottery products for the operation of the U.K. national lottery. Camelot has been the operator of the U.K. National Lottery since its inception in 1994.
“We welcome the opportunity to extend our long-standing partnership with Camelot,” GTECH president and CEO Jaymin B. Patel, said in a statement. “The U.K. National Lottery is a highly-regarded organization, raising more than £29 billion for Good Causes in the U.K. since it began selling lottery tickets in 1994.
“We greatly value and respect the relationship we have established with Camelot and the National Lottery,” added Patel. “We look forward to continuing to support Camelot over the next decade and actively helping to raise additional funds for Good Causes.”
Under the terms of the deal, GTECH will supply Camelot with 8,000 Altura lottery terminals, which will bring the number of online terminals to more than 36,700 within the country. GTECH will also continue to provide ongoing services to Camelot including software development, maintenance, and support; field maintenance and terminal repair services.
