PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. has signed a five-year extension of its lottery products and services contract with the South Dakota Lottery, extending the term of the deal through Aug. 2, 2019.
The gaming subsidiary of Rome’s Lottomatica Group SpA will provide the state lottery with 600 LED signs, along with continued operation and maintenance of the system, from software to lottery terminals, self-service ticket checkers and other equipment and services.
“Since GTECH became the online lottery vendor in South Dakota in 2009, online sales have grown approximately 35 percent,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel.
“This contract extension represents our confidence in the technology and services GTECH provides the South Dakota Lottery, and the partnership that ensures the quality of those services,” said South Dakota Lottery Executive Director Norman Lingle.
Patel added that the relationship between the company and the state represents “a partnership that fosters open communication, collaboration and creativity.”
