GTECH supports 2014 Special Olympics RI

GTECH Corp. was a “silver supporter” to this year’s Special Olympics Rhode Island summer games on May 30 through June 1, donating $3,000 to the 46-year-old nonprofit organization.
Athletes competed in a series of summer sports, which included aquatics, bowling, cycling and power lifting, as well as track and field games.
GTECH will also sponsor the 2014 Summer Olympics USA games as a silver supporter, which will take place in New Jersey on June 14-21. Nearly 3,500 athletes will be competing; 60 athletes will represent Rhode Island.
The Special Olympics Rhode Island Program provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions to more than 2,800 athletes. The organization hosts more than 40 local, regional and statewide tournaments and competitions in 25 sports each year.
GTECH has supported Special Olympics Rhode Island since 2010 in both monetary donations as well as employee volunteer initiatives. •
