GTECH’s National Response Center ISO 14001 certified

PROVIDENCE – GTECH has received International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004 certification for the environmental management system employed at its Providence National Response Center.
In addition, GTECH’s Coventry manufacturing facility and Providence headquarters were both ISO 14001:2004 re-certified.
The certification is an internationally-recognized benchmark for creating and maintaining an environmental management system, a set of green practices and procedures for employees to follow, according to a GTECh release issued Monday announcing the new certification. GTECH was one of the first full-service lottery technology providers to achieve this certification.
“The addition of the National Response Center as a certified environmental management system facility is evidence of GTECH’s continual commitment to the environment,” said GTECH Chief Innovation Officer Don Stanford in the release.
As part of the certification process, auditors from Quality Systems Registrar Inc. toured the National Response Center and corporate offices in Providence and GTECH’s manufacturing facility in Coventry to verify the company’s operational controls and processes.
During the audit, employees were randomly selected and asked questions to measure their awareness of GTECH’s environmental policy and procedures. Additionally, all employees who work at the call center, in manufacturing and at the corporate offices completed an online training and assessment course.
Providence-based GTECH is a leading commercial operator and provider of technology in the regulated worldwide gaming markets.
