PROVIDENCE – For the third week in a row, gasoline prices fell in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
AAA Northeast said gas prices fell 3 cents in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In Rhode Island, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.26 per gallon, and in Massachusetts, the same grade is averaging $2.21 per gallon.
Rhode Island’s price is 2 cents below the national average of $2.28. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 38 cents lower at $1.88.
The cost of other grades of gasoline are as follows in Rhode Island:
- Midgrade unleaded, $2.53
- Premium unleaded, $2.71
- Diesel, $2.54
Massachusetts’ price is 7 cents below the national average. A year ago, the average price in Massachusetts was 39 cents lower at $1.82.
