PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices in Rhode Island fell 4 cents this week, and dropped 1 cent in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
AAA Northeast said self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.22 per gallon in Rhode Island, which is 5 cents higher than it was a year ago at this time, and 4 cents above the national average of $2.18.
“Crude oil prices are at three-month lows, and that’s showing up in lower prices at the pump,” said Lloyd Albert, senior vice president of public and government affairs at AAA Northeast, said in a statement. “That’s good news for motorists planning a trip over the busy Thanksgiving holiday.”
Prices in Rhode Island for unleaded regular range from $2.09 to $2.30, with midgrade unleaded at $2.49; premium unleaded at $2.68; and diesel, $2.47.
In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.13 per gallon. A year ago, the price was 4 cents lower at $2.09.
In the Bay State, prices range from $2.03 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.38; premium unleaded at $2.56; and diesel, $2.40.
