Gasoline prices continue to fall in R.I., Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts declined again this week, falling 4 cents and 3 cents, respectively, according to AAA Northeast.
In the Ocean State, prices have fallen for nine consecutive weeks, with self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.88 per gallon. That price is 7 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $1.81. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 21 cents higher at $2.09.
Prices range from $1.71 to $1.99, with midgrade unleaded at $2.15, premium unleaded at $2.30 and diesel at $2.07.

In Massachusetts, gas prices have decreased for eight consecutive weeks, and self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $1.82 per gallon – 1 cent above the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 25 cents higher at $2.07.

Prices in the Bay State range from $1.63 to $2.09, with midgrade unleaded at $2.17, premium unleaded at $2.34 and diesel at $2.14.
