Gim to succeed Daukas as WashTrust executive VP

PROVIDENCE – Galan G. Daukas, former executive vice president of wealth management at Washington Trust Bancorp. Inc., resigned his position, effective May 20. Daukas will be succeeded by Mark K. Gim, according to a bank filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Gim, who will continue to serve as treasurer of the corporation and the bank, joined Washington Trust in 1993 as a financial planning officer.

He was later promoted to assistant vice president of financial planning in 1995, to vice president of financial planning of the bank in 1996, to senior vice president of financial planning and asset/liability management in 2000 and finally to executive vice president and treasurer of the corporation and the bank in 2008.

Washington Trust’s filing with the SEC did not disclose Daukas’ reasons for resignation.
