Gloria Gemma set for golf tourney

PAWTUCKET – The second annual Birdies for Boobies golf tournament, a fundraising event for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, will take place at the North Kingstown Golf Course on Aug. 18.
Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $9,000 for the foundation with more than 130 golfers taking place in the tournament.
Tournament registration requires a minimum donation of $110, which includes an 18-hole scramble, golf cart, and steak dinner at 6 p.m. Registered participants will convene at noon and tee-off is at 1 p.m.
Registration closes on Aug. 4 and is available by emailing rmcccaskill83@yahoo.com.
Dinner-only tickets are available for $40.
All proceeds will be donated to the Gloria Gemma Foundation, which was established in 2004 to raise breast cancer awareness, increase breast health education, and generate funding for local breast health programs among other initiatives.
