After a brief morning shower, the clouds cleared and 104 golfers took to the course to raise more than $67,000 for Gateway Healthcare.
The nonprofit behavioral health care organization recently held its Annual Golf Classic at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston. Those who participated played 18 holes of golf while WPRI-TV Fox Providence’s sport director Patrick Little served as the event’s emcee. The classic also included a raffle and silent and live auctions.
Proceeds from the event will fund behavioral-health programs for children and families throughout Rhode Island.
Richard Leclerc, president of Gateway, said he appreciates everyone’s participation.
“We are thankful to the business community and individuals who came out today in support of our mission and participated in this important fundraising event,” he said. “Each year we strive to make an exciting and fun-filled event for our players. This year was nothing less than a success.” &#8226
