Google hosts day-long business program in R.I.

PROVIDENCE – All day Monday, Google is leading Rhode Island Get Your Business Online event at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

The event, held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., includes workshops that provide businesses with fast, easy and free ways to build a website, as well as tips to build a strong presence and online “searchability.”

“The Google-led program is dedicated to driving economic growth by providing Rhode Island local businesses the tools and resources to establish a website and online presence in order to find new customers and grow their business,” said the release announcing the event.

Rhode Island Get Your Business Online is sponsored by the Small Business Development Center, the Smaller Business Association of New England, the New England Council and the Center for Women and Enterprise, among others.

Google is running the Get Your Business Online campaign across the country, and has helped over 100,000 businesses start the process of getting online, according to a release.
