Graduate! Rhode Island receives $75K grant from UWRI

PROVIDENCE – A $75,000 startup grant was awarded to Graduate! Rhode Island by the United Way of Rhode Island in mid-November in conjunction with Gov. Gina M. Raimondo’s plan to increase the number of Rhode Island residents with college degrees to 70 percent by 2025.

“Not only is a good education the best way for our neighbors to provide for themselves and their families,” but college graduates can earn an annual $18,000 more than those without, said Anthony Maione, president and CEO of United Way of Rhode Island.

A partnership between the Annenberg Institute for School Reform, the College Crusade of Rhode Island, Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, R.I. Adult Education Professional Center, College Unbound, Rhode Island College and the Community College of Rhode Island, among others, Graduate! Rhode Island’s mission is to gather adult educational programs in one central resource to facilitate the process for those looking to better themselves through education.

The $75,000 grant from UWRI will fund the hiring of staff and the cost of national Graduate! materials.
