Students at William M. Davies Jr. Career and Technical High School in Lincoln will soon receive new equipment after accepting a $10,000 donation from The Grainger Foundation.

The grant comes after a suggestion by Jim Crowley, a branch manager at W.W. Grainger Inc. in Warwick.

Crowley said his company, a supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products, is proud to recommend the programs offered at the high school, which will put the funds toward equipment specifically for its machine technology programs.

“We understand the need for technical education programs that educate the future machine technology workforce,” Crowley said.

Gerry Manning, supervisor of career and technical instruction at the high school, said William M. Davies Jr. is grateful for Grainger’s donation, which supports the institution’s goal of strengthening its technical education program.

The school is a four-year academic and technical high school serving 850 local students.
