PROVIDENCE – Grant Thornton LLP announced it has acquired “certain assets and practices” of accounting and advisory firm CCR LLP, without disclosing the financial terms of the deal.

Grant’s acquisition includes CCR’s offices in Providence, Westborough, Mass., and Glastonbury, Conn., and will expand the firm’s Boston office.

At the Providence office, located at 50 Exchange Terrace, there are nine professionals that will be joining Grant Thornton.

David Platt was managing partner at CCR; Catherine Parente was partner in charge of the Providence office.

“We are committed to expansion and the Providence office enables us to reach a vital region of New England’s leading business community,” said Scott Levy, Grant Thornton’s New England managing partner.

Grant Thornton LLP is the U.S. member and one of six global audit, tax and advisory organizations of Grant Thornton International Ltd.

“Acquiring the practices of a large, full-service firm like CCR better enables us to serve clients throughout New England, broadens and deepens our talent base, and strengthens our foundation for growth,” said Stephen Chipman, CEO of Grant Thornton.
