GreenBytes named top virtualization vendor

PROVIDENCE – Desktop-virtualization company GreenBytes Inc. has been recognized in the CRN Data Center 100 annual list featuring technology vendors whose solutions are vital for powering data-center services.
CRN, a magazine for technology resellers, developed the list to identify top companies and technologies, from data-backup tools to virtual data-center solutions and cloud-hosting services. The list honors vendors in five different categories: infrastructure, tools, virtualization, service providers, and designers and builders.
GreenBytes was named a winner in the virtualization category, recognized for its work in desktop virtualization storage optimization with products including the IO Offload Engine appliance and vIO virtual storage appliance, which allow businesses to overcome data-storage barriers and deploy virtual desktops at cloud scale without adding additional RAM.
The vIO device features GreenBytes’ patented zero-latency inline deduplication technology, which removes redundant data to reduce desktop-virtualization storage needs by up to 98 percent, according to GreenBytes.
“The Data Center 100 list recognizes vendors that embrace innovation, efficiency and sustainability, to bring the data center to the next level,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company, which owns CRN magazine. “These dynamic companies are led by forward-thinking executives who understand today’s data center environment. We applaud their success and look forward to their continued contributions to this industry.”
