PROVIDENCE – Greenlee Communications, a subsidiary of Providence-based Textron Inc., announced the launch Friday of its new line of FibertoolsSplice-On Connectors for terminating fiber cables.

“We designed these Splice-On Connectors for low insertion and return loss,” said Thieu Do, business manager for Fiber Tools at Greenlee Communications. “They’re engineered to exceed industry standards and reduce the need for cleaving and rework, saving time when field-terminating fiber optic cables.”

Splice-on Connectors are available in 19 different configurations for SC, LC, FC and ST prepolished, precleaved terminations. All connectors come with a 900-micrometer boot, which protects and houses the fiber splice from damage. The extended dust cap is also color-coded for easy fiber identification.

All Splice-on Connectors are optimized for use with the Greenlee Communications 910FS Optical Fusion Splicer.

Greenlee, headquartered in Rockford, Ill., develops professional tools for the electrical, construction and maintenance industries worldwide.
