COVENTRY – Aquatic filtration systems-maker Neptune-Benson LLC has appointed Michael Griffin as its new president.

“As our company continues on its aggressive growth path, it is important to strengthen our team in order to ensure that key operational and strategic responsibilities can be given the proper attention,” Barry Gertz, current president and CEO, said in a statement. “Michael brings the type of experience and a global perspective that will prove to be invaluable to our organization as we move forward.”

Griffin, a graduate of Boston University, joins Neptune-Benson with more than 30 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was senior general manager at Sundyne, a division of United Technologies Corp. subsidiary Hamilton Sundstrand.

“I am very excited about Neptune-Benson’s strategic direction and the growing family of quality brands,” said Griffin. “I have been impressed by the skill and dedication of our people and their driving commitment to maintain a leadership position in the markets we serve through expertly servicing our customer's needs from concept to after sale support.”

“I look forward to working with the team to assist the company in exploring new opportunities in the industrial sector and other markets,” added Griffin.
