CHICAGO – The Healthcare Financial Management Association has awarded Hospital Association of Rhode Island Senior Vice President Michael Souza the certification of fellow, for his leadership and professionalism in the industry.
Souza, an association member for more than a decade and Massachusetts/Rhode Island chapter participant, earned the designation by demonstrating a “significant level of expertise, service and commitment to transforming the health care finance industry,” according to the association.
At the Hospital Association of Rhode Island, Souza directs member services in the areas of health care economic policy, information collection and analysis and insurance. He also oversees internal administrative functions, including accounting, human resources, information services, insurance, computer systems and facilities.
“We recognize Souza as a leader who has demonstrated a depth of expertise that is critical to shaping our future,” said HFMA President and CEO Joseph J. Fifer. •
