Hanna Instruments launches new handheld colorimeters

PROVIDENCE – Hanna Instruments Inc. has announced the release of twelve new Checker HC Handheld Colorimeters for both consumer and field use.

The new Checker line is designed as an accurate yet affordable alternative to chemical test kits.

The Checker HC portable meters are able to measure a variety of parameters including ammonia at low, medium and high ranges, nitrite at low and high ranges, total chlorine at ultra low and high ranges, low range silica, bromine, chromium VI, marine calcium and alkalinity.

The handheld colorimeters can be used for testing water quality in a variety of environments such as saltwater aquariums, cooling towers and swimming pools and spas.

The line can also be used to test water treated to remove chlorine, as well as spot checking water quality in wastewater, plating and environmental applications.

“Our handheld Checker’s fill a unique niche between chemical test kits and high end laboratory colorimeters,” Paul Fabsits, vice president of global business development for Hanna, said in a prepared statement. “They are far more accurate and easy to use than a chemical test kit, yet are inexpensive enough for an everyday costumer to use.”
