Harbor One taps ex-Santander exec. for Prov. Office

PROVIDENCE – HarborOne Bank, which recently entered the Rhode Island market, has tapped a former Santander Bank senior vice president to join its Providence commercial lending office.
Murray W. Charron, of Jamestown, joins the bank’s fledgling team of Providence-based commercial lenders as vice president of commercial banking. He most recently served as senior vice president at Santander working in the Providence market, according to a press release.
“We’re delighted to add Murray Charron to our expanding Providence team,” said James W. Blake, HarborOne president and CEO, in a statement. “Murray brings extensive experience lending in the Rhode Island marketplace to HarborOne, which will help connect Rhode Island business owners to a strong bank as they seek to expand, grow and thrive. Murray has the local contacts and the HarborOne support to make that happen.”
Before working at Santander, Charron spent six years at Citibank, where he provided lending services to small- and middle-market companies, according to HarborOne.
The Brockton, Mass.,-based bank, with $2 billion in assets, entered the Rhode Island market on June 1, opening a commercial lending office in Providence, which marked HarborOne’s first new commercial office since 2013.
