PAWTUCKET - Hasbro Inc. and Electronic Arts Inc. have entered into a four year agreement under which the digital entertainment company will develop mobile platforms for various Hasbro games.

“Over the past six years, Hasbro and EA have collaborated to develop some of the most popular digital games based on Hasbro’s best-selling global game brands,” Hasbro Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gaming and Corporate Development Mark Blecher said in a statement. “The next phase of our relationship will build on this tremendous success and is specifically focused on leveraging Hasbro’s rich game brands with EA’s leadership in the mobile space.”

EA has developed digital platforms for Hasbro in the past and EA’s Pogo.com gaming website is the central provider for online versions of Hasbro games, according to the company.

The new arrangement will lead to popular Hasbro game brands, including Monopoly, Battleship, Yahtzee and Clue being developed for the mobile sphere.

“We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with Hasbro to date, delighting millions of consumers with digital versions of their favorite Hasbro games,” Chip Lange, senior vice president and general manager of the Pogo division at EA, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to extend our agreement with Hasbro in the mobile space … our talented game designers can create mobile games that will allow Hasbro fans around the world to experience their favorite gaming brands in a whole new way.”
