PROVIDENCE – Taking a page from Comic-Con, Hasbro will hold a three-day event called “HASCON” in September, its first fan and family convention.
“Hasbro is home to many of the world’s most recognizable brands, each of them with their own group of passionate and engaged fans,” John Frascotti, Hasbro Brands president, said in a statement. “HASCON will deliver an extraordinary peek behind the curtain of our brands, storytelling and iconic characters while giving us the opportunity to invite fans and families to our hometown for the most memorable, unified Hasbro experience ever.”

The event, which will be held at the R.I. Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center from Sept. 8-10, will celebrate Hasbro’s characters and stories, and will feature interactive experiences so fans can engage with their favorite characters.
Transformers, My Little Pony, Nerf, Magic The Gathering, Play-Doh, Monopoly and G.I. Joe will be “re-imagined through dynamic stage performances,” according to the Pawtucket-based toymaker.
Visitors also will have the chance to see first-look previews of Hasbro’s television shows and movies, and attend panels and meet-and-greets with celebrities and creative talent associated with Hasbro brands. They also will be able to participate in Hasbro Gaming competitions and buy limited-edition Hasbro products.
